Rewilding childhood through an interactive educational foraging community

The wild world is full of treasures forgotten by many...

Don't let your family miss out on connecting with creation!

Connection

In our modern digital age, our children are especially at risk of growing up out of touch with the natural world. Let's get them back exploring outside and in awe of the beauty of nature.

Discovery

When they learn that the "weeds" in their backyard are actually incredibly nutritious plants that have been used for food and medicine for centuries, there will be no end to the learning and fun!

Confidence

The combination of foraging safety skills + recording knowledge + hands on experience using the plants will bolster your child's confidence to do hard things and be prepared with essential survival skills.

What makes The Young Foragers Club different?

An interactive foraging experience with sticker badges and a learning community

Guides just for young foragers

Our guides are created just for young foragers who are beginning the adventure of learning. There's also guidance and more advanced information for young foragers who already have some experience.

Earn sticker badges

As your child completes the Five Basic Units of The Young Foragers Club, they will earn a sticker badge for each unit. The excitement builds as they add each sticker to their collection, until they earn the Golden Acorn for completing all of the assignments.

Keep a nature journal

Recording and retaining what you learn is at the core of The Young Foragers Club. As your child writes about and draws what they observe, they will help to lock this information into their memory and have a tangible record to look back on all of the things they've learned.

Join the Club

You can choose to only participate in earning the Badges or additionally join our safe online membership club. This will give your family access to more foraging resources, activity guides, and help with identifying plants. Members of the online club get to take part in our seasonal Bonus Badge challenges to keep the learning going after you finish the Five Basic Units. Your children will also see their names added to the official Young Foragers achievement list as they complete each badge.

Forever a Wild Child

Hello there! I’m Tasha. I was blessed with a childhood where I got to freely explore our big backyard and woods, watching the birds and spending hours picking dandelion blossoms. I learned from my herbalist mother that the plants so many call weeds are actually a wonderful resource God had given us for food and medicine.

As I grew up, I realized not many other children experienced such a unique and fascinating childhood, so I set out to find a way to encourage other families to get more in tune with nature and learn these time-honored skills.

There are many solutions to the problems of today’s world, but one of the simplest yet most impactful choices we can make is just stepping outside and taking the time to appreciate all that we’ve been given.

So, come with me and let’s rewild childhood together!

FAQ

April is the prime time for starting your foraging journey with the abundence of spring wild edibles, so we will launch the program in April. There’s so much that we want to include in the program that we won’t be able to fit in the guides for the initial launch in April, but if you sign up for the membership club you will get access to the updated guides later in the year at no extra cost. Pricing for the club will go up after the new updated guides are released, so make sure you don’t miss the launch!

The Young Foragers Club is designed with children ages 6-13 in mind, but if you have a child out of this age group who you think would enjoy being part of the club, they’re welcome to join, too!

Though designed with beginners in mind, families who already have a foundational knowledge of foraging can use the framework provided though the Five Basic Units, including the worksheets and sticker badges, to motivate their children to dig deeper in their understanding of wild edibles and guidance for how to actually use them.

We all have to start somewhere! Your family can embark on the adventure together and you get to experience all of the learning firsthand with your children. If you worry about your abilities to successfully identify plants correctly, joining our membership program will give you access to the input of us and other more advanced foragers who can help you know for certain what you’re foraging.

We are currently the process of creating the guides for the program, so our official pricing hasn’t been set yet. We know how important this knowledge is and want to make it available to everyone, so we will be offering an option of downloadable badges for those who aren’t able to get the sticker badges at this time. This downloadable option will only be available during the initial launch and during special promotions, so make sure you sign up for the waitlist if you would like to take advantage of this offer!
