Have you ever searched for a book that could help with connecting your child to the world around them? Are you interested in learning about the bounty of herbs and edible plants found in your back yard and want to engage your children in the process? Look no further!
Marqueta Graham has loved the great outdoors from a young age. When she grew up and began to learn about herbs and wild edibles, she shared her knowledge with her children and taught them to appreciate the plants growing around them as sources of food and medicine. As they grew older, she noticed there weren’t many resources for helping children learn about wild edibles, so she set out to create a book to fill that void. The result was “Hyrum Goes Foraging”, which portrays her going out on a foraging adventure with her youngest son Hyrum.
The book shows them finding these valuable plants in the wild and also includes a clear identification page for every plant mentioned so you will be able to find them on your own. It also includes several delicious, child friendly recipes so you know how to use the plants you find.
Though created for children, this valuable resource is great for beginners of all ages who are just starting out and want to learn the most common early spring wild edibles.
